On April 5 and 6, Tucson will experience a new community-wide festival: Tucson Hullabaloo.

“We’re celebrating what makes Tucson awesome,” said Matt Ziegler, an event organizer.

Admission to the Hullabaloo at Armory Park, 220 S. 5th Ave., is $5. Gates open at 10 a.m. each day and the first 500 guests with two canned food donations get in free. The festivities will last until 9 p.m.

The Hullabaloo was started four years ago in Flagstaff as a community party for all ages. Children will be entertained by puppet shows while adults can enjoy live music performances.

“There’s a little something for everyone,” Ziegler said.

Several local food trucks will park at the event to provide food, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, water bottles and sunscreen.

Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities such as the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Living Streets Alliance and Tu Nidito.
